On a Personal Note #1. So long 2019!

Phillip Dane

2019 was one of the most challenging years we have had in a long time as producers of events. First, it started by trying to start up Odd Nights at the Autry in January instead of April. Bad weather killed us. It really wasn’t until May that we started to have a good show due to the wet and cold Fridays. But that’s the name of the game. That was a blow for sure. This is the 6th season at The Autry and we will only be operating Odd Nights from May through August.

January Odd Nights was a mud bath!

Then there’s the Los Feliz Flea. Such a wonderful venue and has tremendous potential but we started it fast and in the midst of the holidays when most vendors are already booked for other events. So, we chose to shut it down and reopen on Saturday, Jan 11th (this coming Saturday). Sounds like a great plan until…

My back gave out. I mean really gave out and wound up in surgery on December 17th, thus the reason for radio silence until today. Now the hustle is on and we are ramping up to relaunch what we feel will become a staple Flea in the not-so-distant future. It’s a spectacular location with free parking and free admission. Lots of shady areas with tons of seating. Not to mention, in the heart of Los Feliz. We will start running tv commercials in the coming weeks.

Here’s to 2020. Shelly and I hope you can join us as we continue our journey in the wonderful and challenging world of event production.
