To me, there is no better title than “Dad” and it’s one that I have had for many years. I love being a father. I love hearing my kids of all ages say the word, “Dad.” I have been blessed to also know a lot of wonderful fathers and men that have taught me what it means to raise strong, loving children. And in today’s world, that is a daunting task at times.
It certainly is not an easy job. Not a job that ever ends and at times I have wished I could retire from the position. But those are always fleeting thoughts and typically followed with an “Ahhh, I love this Kid” moment. Our 4 girls are all older now. I am proud of them all. Our son is now 8 and after 4 girls, I affectionately refer to him as my appendage.
For a long time, we have been producing events and each of them has always started with “family first” as the foundation. We strive to create events that families can come to, can enjoy and want to come back to. Especially at Odd Nights, I see so many Fathers out with their kids and it truly makes me happy although it may not seem that way as I scramble to make sure the light tower is on, trash is emptied and lights are remaining on in the booths and those of you have been coming for years, you know what I am talking about. But if you stop me and say hello, you will immediately know that I appreciate everyone who chooses to spend some time at our shows.
Happy Father’s Day to my fellow Dad’s. Here’s to Fatherhood. Enjoy your day Dad’s, cause it’s back to the beautiful grind tomorrow.
